Alex Post will be presenting on the fish identification in the Northwestern Atlantic, both inshore and offshore. Alex studied Marine Science from the University of Connecticut, interned with NOAA Sea Grant, worked with CT DEEP Inland Fisheries, led offshore fisheries sampling after the Deepwater Horizon Oil spill, and worked with the NOAA Observer Program as an observer, Fish ID instructor, and maritime safety lead. He now works as an officer in the NOAA International Affairs, Trade, & Commerce’s Seafood Inspection Program.
Alex was SCUBA certified in 2007, and has been a member of SECONN Divers, on-and-off since 2010. He is certified in Open Water, Advanced, NITROX, AAUS Scientific Diver, Freediving, and has run a USOA Spearfishing Club. Some of his favorite dive sites include Newport, RI, the Florida Keys, and anywhere with water clear enough to see the fish you might find in it.
