Representation in Conservation

Amber Lea Kincaid, Founder of the Wildlife Research Alliance, will be presenting on their mission to advance the field of conservation behavior and guide it to an equitable and diverse future by conducting innovative research in a variety of species and ecosystems while providing fully funded internship opportunities to individuals from underrepresented minorities and communities.

Amber Lea Kincaid has an MA in Animal Behavior and Conservation from Hunter College in New York. She spent five years working in marine animal stranding and rescue on the Gulf Coast of Florida, where she researched dolphins, manatees, and sea turtles, and got her PADI open water certification. She is now the executive director of the Wildlife Research Alliance, a non-profit she founded in 2023 dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of conservation behavior. She also has a science education TikTok channel called The Excitable Scientist. Her dream in life is to harness the excitement we feel for science as small children and use that to save the world.
